Chlamydia Screening

In England, sexually active women under 25 are offered a free chlamydia test once a year, and when they have sex with new or casual partners.
Blackwells Chemist - Helping the local community in Beckenham, Anerley, Penge, Bromley, Elmers End & Park Langley and beyond.
You can get a free self-test kit from our pharmacy. You'll need to send the kit to a lab for testing.
Chlamydia is easily diagnosed using nucleic acid amplification tests (NAATs), which can be performed using non-invasive samples like urine or swabs. However, many infections are asymptomatic, so a large proportion of cases remain undiagnosed.
If left untreated, chlamydia can cause serious health complications, including: pain due to inflammation in the pelvis, an ectopic pregnancy, and infertility.
If you test positive for chlamydia, you'll be contacted and told what to do next. Treatment is usually a one-week dose of antibiotics and is normally free.
