Who can get free prescriptions?
In England, you may be entitled if you’re under 16, aged 16–18 in full-time education, over 60, pregnant, have certain medical conditions, or receive specific benefits. We can help you check if you’re eligible. Prescriptions are free in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Are Consultations Free of Charge?
Yes, all our consultations and advice are free of charge and designed to guide you. We may recommend tailored products or vaccinations in addition to the clinical advice, and explain to you the benefits of these items but there is no obligation to purchase them.
How much do NHS prescriptions cost?
A prescription in England will cost £9.90 for each medicine or appliance dispensed. Prescriptions are free in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Can you deliver my medicines?

Can I get private prescription medication at Blackwells Chemist?
Yes, with a valid Private Prescription, we can dispense your private medication and provide you the advice. We also offer private medication for pets.
Do I need to make an appointment to see the pharmacist?
No appointment needed - just pop in and we’ll be happy to help. Some services (like flu jabs or travel vaccines) might need booking, but for most things you can walk straight in.
Are Walk-in services available? or only booked appointments?
Walk in services are typically available for all services that we offer, although our clinic diaries are quite busy so you may be asked to wait a while until the pharmacist is available. To save you waiting, we encourage booking a dedicated slot in advance.
We do offer walk in appointments for Covid-19 Vaccinations, Flu immunisations, Travel Vaccinations, Emergency Contraception, Other Immunisation Vaccinations and Pharmacy First consultations.
If I am not Eligible under NHS for Free Immunisations, Can I get them privately?
Yes, we offer both Covid-19 Vaccination and Flu immunisation vaccinations privately for those who do not fall under the free NHS eligibility criteria.
Are Covid-19 and Flu Immunisations a combined Vaccine?
No, whilst both Covid-19 and Flu Immunisation vaccines are encouraged to be co-administered, they are separate vaccines and you have the choice if you want one or the other or both at the same time during your appointment.
Is Dental Tooth Ache Covered under Pharmacy First?
No, the NHS Pharmacy First campaign does not cover Dental Tooth Ache. We recommend booking an emergency dental appointment with our partner clinic, The DenCare Clinic in Locksbottom, Bromley for all Dental related matters. Your will usually be seen the same day or the next working day.
